This started as a fun side-project that kept me entertained in the spare time that wasn't spent on school projects. The finished product is a wine bottle stopper that I gave my sister as a present for her engagement.
The rose was carved entirely by hand using a Dremel router and a vise grip.
The colour is natural; purpleheart wood grows in Central America, and ultraviolet light exposure turns its exposed grain a brilliant purple hue.
